    Hello,
I have a Bulgarian registered car and I would like to sell it in Spain.
I was thinking of taking it to Spain and sell it to a car dealer.
I have been told that I do not need to do anything as all the paper work is done between Bulgaria and Spain.
Is that true? If not, what should I do? What should I get?
    Thanks for your help.

Hi, I am from one of the EU countries and I am about to buy a car from a dealer in Germany. The car is used, 3 years old. After buying a car, I am preparing to drive home myself.
    Questions:
    1. Are the so-called yellow transit numbers enough for me?
    2. Do I need to register the car in Germany in my own name? If I don’t register in my own name, will I be issued with yellow transit numbers?

Hi, Dangis! 1. Yellow plates are only recognized in Germany and Austria. 2. You have to apply for export red numbers on your name.

My car registration will expire on June 5. Can I apply for a 1301 Transit Vehicle Registration Number before that date? How complicated is the process? If I need it for more than 30-days, can I renew and get a new Transit Vehicle Registration Number near when the first one is going to expire? Thank you!

Hi! The transit numbers for export are given only once and they are valid for 30 days. The process takes 1 day. You cannot apply in advance, only same day application+task execution.

Hi, I bought the car last year 2022 and paid tax and did mot as well. It expired this month so i went to renew my MOT and they said there is no data for car on the municipality site .

They told me to go pay tax, I checked at easypay and i have no tax as well.

What should i do to get this issue sorted as no data means i cant do MOT .

Thanks a lot for your help .

Hi! First go and pay tax in the municipalty. Then you do the technical check.

Hello Georgi. I live in Bulgaria and I’m planning to send my boyfriend to Germany to purchase a car for me.
    1. Would a power of attorney notarised in BG be enough-in order to purchase it on my name? Do I need an Official Translation, do I need the document to be legalised by a translator or any other institution? Does it need an Apostille in front of the German Authorities? Does this procedure involve the Bulgaria Consulate in Germany? There are a million different opinions that I heard and now I’m completely confused…
    2. The car is over 6 months (2y) and over 6k KM (24k KM), and therefore, considered old. The dealership required payment for car plus VAT (19%). If I pay full price and VAT, will I be able to register the car in Sofia or I’ll be obliged to pay VAT locally as well? I want to mention that the German Invoice will clearly state the price of the car and the VAT associated.
Your answer will be much appreciated. Thank you

Hello, Christine! 1. No, it won’t. Germans will not accept it. 2. Germans told you correct. You pay 19% german vat and nothing extra.

I am moving from the US to BG for work and would like to take my BMW with me, but I am unsure if I can import it and register it once it arrives. I understand that it will have to undergo a technical inspection to ensure that it meets the laws in BG.

The car is in good condition, however, it has been extensively modified. The engine, steering rack, steering coupler, brakes, and wheels were all changed with parts from a newer car. I bought the car that the engine came from and rebuilt it before changing it. The other parts all came from other BMW models. I have receipts for just about everything I have done to the car and have a detailed list of parts.

Will I be able to import the car or is it a waste of time and money to risk not being able to pass the inspection and register the car here?

I think it is a high risk to not pass the registartion. You’d better do not import that car to BG.
