KAT Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Blagoevgrad
Physical Identification of the Vehicle:

 

  1. Initial registration of an used/second hand vehicle, imported to Bulgaria  – 80 BGN

    – A notary signed power of attorney  is necessary – 6 BGN tax by every notary in Bulgaria
    – Initial registration with the presence and support of the vehicle’s owner – 40 BGN (power ot attorney is not necessary as long as you are present at the day of registration and bring your valid ID card)
    – 60 BGN is the government tax for first vehicle’s registration in Bulgaria
    – If you would like to choose a preferable number, you have to pay additionally between 30 and 50 BGN at the day of the registration directly to the government authorities
    – If you would like to write down an additional  user of the car in the registration certificates, please download the following declaration and fill it out. The first one is for private persons and the second one is for companies:

  2. Change in the registration of an already registered vehicle in Bulgaria  – 80 BGN.
    For example if you buy a car with “PB 1111” number (registered in Plovdiv), but your address registration is in Sofia, then you have to change the registration plates and registration certificates to “CB ****”.

    – A notary signed power of attorney  is necessary – 6 BGN tax by every notary in Bulgaria

    – 40 BGN administative tax in KAT Sofia

  3. Reissuing of a registation certificate part I – 80 BGN
    If you have lost the big registration certificate (part I), then we have to register the car again. Here we come back to point 2.
  4. Change of the registation number by lost or stolen registration plate/plates – 80 BGN
    If your registation plate/plates get lost or stolen, then you have to register the car again. Old plates are declared “invalid”. Here we come back to point 2.
  5. Second issuing of transit plates (if the first get lost or stolen) – 80 BGN
  6. Change in the parameters of the vehicle (replaced engine for example) – 80 BGN.

Services offered from 1 to 6 include the paper work, pick up of the vehicle from owner’s address in Sofia, payment of taxes, insurance and registation of the vehicle and the return of the vehicle to owner’s address in Sofia. If your address is outside of Sofia, then additional 0.30 BGN/km have to be paid.

When I am doing your car insurance, the visual inspekction/check by the insuarance is gratis and you get your car ready to be driven on the roads.

IMPORTANT! By the visual and technical check of the car, the owner bears full responsibility for the technical and optical condition of the car/vehicle. This includes, but is not limited to: car windows have to be in good shape, brakes have to function properly, lights have to work, profile of the wheels, fire extinguisher, warning west, triangle, and first aid kit, catalytic convert and/or DPF for diesel engine. By the technical and visual inspection, if the initial registration has been refused, then you have to fix all issues in 1 month time and come back for second inspection. 

Services WITHOUT visual and technical inspection in KAT Sofia:
(the car should not be present at place):

  1. First registration of brand new cars  – 50 BGN
  2. Reissue of the registration certificate part II  – 50 BGN
  3. Ownership change of a vehicle with registration in Sofia which has been sold to a physical or juristic person in Sofia

  4. Scrapping of an old vehicle  – 50 BGN
  5. First issue of transit plates – 50 BGN
  6. Change in the owner’s data in the registration certificate (names and address) – 50 BGN
